More College Life

SO...Sorry I haven't written in a while, I've been kind of out of it personally, but I do have some new adventures to tell of! Wahhoooo!!

Ok so hmm where to start....I guess I'll start with the interesting things I've discovered about dorm life. First, I love it so far haha! I've really gotten to know some of the girls on my floor some more, particuarly Bonnie and Tiffany who are three doors down from me. I usually go to their room about 3-5 times a day and just chill. We tend to get the giggles about nothing in particular, and well...we have our moments of randomness. Like last Saturday for instance. Bonnie was getting excited because her sister was coming for Labor Day weekend and she was changing the sheets on her bed and making it all pretty and stuff. Well, I think she was a little TOO excited because, I was sitting in my room doing whatever and she calls me to come in the hall. I step out into the hall only to see this Maroon blob running towards me (i.e. Bonnie running as fast as she could toward me with her sheet over her head.) Of course I screamed cuz I wasn't expecting to be met by Miss Maroon Wonder! It was hilarious though nonetheless lol! ;)

Hahah, I think one of the funniest things that has happened with Bonnie and Tiffany was when we accidentally burned the popcorn. Tiffany had bought this caramel popcorn that you could make in the microwave. You just pop the regular popcorn and then melt the caramel and pour if over the popcorn. Simple right? You'd think so, but no. Tiffany ran downstairs to borrow a bowl from one of the girls and of course stuck the popcorn and caramel in the microwave for 30 seconds. 30 seconds later we open the door and billows of smoke just pour out of the microwave. The following happend simultaneously: Tiffany grabs the smoking bowl and opens the door, Andrea stuggles to open the STUCK window, I try to get some water and find a trash bag, and all of us are trying NOT to make the fire alarm go off while laughing hysterically at the same time. We figured out what the problem was though. Tiffany used a PLASTIC bowl....which burned of course making a nice big black hole on the bottom of the bowl. Needless to say, the whole 2nd floor hall Streetside AND Fieldside smelled like burnt popcorn, caramel and smoke for about 2 days. =P

Here's another interesting thing about Dorm life. So, apparently each dorm house is supposed to have "routine fire drills" every so often just to make sure people know where to go in case of a fire. Every one has 'em. I was surprised when they told me this and of course was "thrilled" (for those of you who don't know, I have issues with fire drills, so that was some serious sarcasm right there.) But I was just like "whatever, I'll take it 'em as they come".

I am pretty sure that Caldwell Hall (my dorm house) however, will probably not need "routine fire drills" because we have too much excitement in the buidling to EVER need one. Let me give you two examples. We are allowed microwaves in the dorms, but sometimes they can go wacko. One girl tried to cook some bread in her microwave and it started to smoke. And of course da-da-DA, the fire alarm went off and everyone went outside. I actually wasn't present for that event, BUT I was around for the second alarm that went off. I was sitting in the study room just chilling when I hear this beeping noise that sounds like a microwave bell. The beeping wouldn't stop, and it was only when I put two and two together that I figured out, "oh it's the fire alarm, I guess i'd better leave." Of course I left and a lot of girls are sitting in the parking lot waiting to find out the reason why the alarm went off. The police officer then told us that someone was doing laundry and one of the washers started smoking! That just made me laugh, how does a washer start smoking, or even that catch on fire (which it didn't fyi)??? lol lol lol!!!

Other news: MY DAD IS COMING TO VISIT ME THIS WEEKEND!!! YAYAY!!!!!!!! AND THE CELTIC FEST IS THIS WEEKEND!!! WAAAHHHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I shall make sure to take pictures during the Celtic Fest, almost everyone on our hall is going so I can't wait!! =D

Umm....I know there's been a ton of stuff happening, but I actually have to run to dinner now before the cafeteria closes (haha-wonder what they have for dinner *cringes*). I shall write another entry though about a new activity that the theatre department does four times a year-THEATRE OLYMPICS. This'll make you laugh! =D
